Six games that fit a commute

Six games that fit a commute

September 26, 2026 · Mikkel Sørensen

The best commute game respects the fact that you might have to close it in ten seconds. That means quick sessions, a reliable pause, and no punishing you for stepping away mid-round.

Arcade games win here. Casinacho Win is a good example: pick up, tap for a couple of minutes, put down, no harm done. Tidecall Tactics also works if you enjoy thinking slowly between stations.

I avoid anything with energy timers or long unskippable cutscenes for the train. Nothing kills a short session faster than a two-minute intro you have already seen. Save those for the sofa.

My personal loadout is one arcade game, one strategy game, and one calm adventure. That covers whatever mood the morning throws at me.
